Big bricks. Good Coconut Coir. So Many Uses!

Big bricks. Good Coconut Coir. So Many Uses!
Ordered three bricks and received three identical perfect individually wrapped bricks. Each brick when expanded filled my wheel barrow. It is not the finest coconut coir but perfect for garden beds to help aerate clay soil and retain moisture. I've purchased smaller pricier bricks (finer coir) for use in reptile terrariums but those would be too expensive and a waste to use large-scale in the garden. These were great and a great value...I used this coir mixed with compost and Amends to prepare clay soil for flower and vegetable beds and for planting new plants.I used this alone for starting seeds in spring. 100% coir worked better than bagged garden soil/potting mix. Seeds germinated faster, at better rate, and are healthier. I added a picture of my seeds, which germinated only after 3 days in the coir. Same seeds took 14 days to germinate in potting soil. I'm amazed!I also use this to change the bedding out of my worm composting bins. Worms are happy and loving it.So many uses! I came back to repurchase more because I thought it would be nice to have a stack of these bricks handy, but they are now out of stock. Please bring this back!

Great product. I use this to mix with perlite to help make soilless soil, I took a corner chunk off and put it in a 5 gallon bucket and let it soak. I couldn't believe it filled the whole bucket.
This works to as a media to plant seeds, germinate them, and grow into adult plants.
It's also a better alternative than peat moss, as it is sustainable.
You really, really get your monies worth.

My coconut coir came, I followed the instructions, added the water and waited 15 minutes. I found that I needed to add a bit more water and I used my hands to mix to around (which was an option) helping with absorbency. Wow! It truly expanded. I have used it to help with transplanting from seedling container to permanent pots and regular soil I must say I'm very happy with the results, so much so, I am ordering another coconut coir today.
Please note, at first there is a sort of chemical smell to it but, if you can wait a few days, that smell goes away.

So far so good. My use of this is in the garden, to improve the soil before planting. Mixed well with existing dirt and allowed to settle, makes a good planting bed.
